8. Solution Validation

Two unique VSAs are leveraged in this test environment – Extreme-Service-Type & Extreme-

The expected behavior of the Extreme-Service-Type VSA is for the admin user to be provided

read/write access to the controller. Alternatively, the monitor user should only be able to view

the GUI without the ability to make changes. The local admin account should fail at login. The

following procedure will be performed to confirm the function of the Extreme-Service-Type

VSA:

1) Login to the WM with the local administrator account

2) Login to the WM with the monitor user account (created on the RADIUS Server)

3) Observe the level of access provided to the monitor user

4) Login to the WM with the admin user account (created on the RADIUS Server)

5) Observe the level of access provided to the admin user

Note: All log-in actions will be performed through web-based access

Next the functionality of the Extreme-Login-Service VSA must be confirmed. It is expected that

the admin user will be able to access the WM through all methods (console, SSH, telnet, and

web). The monitor user should only be able to access the WM via the Web. The following

procedure will confirm that the users can access the WM appropriately:

1) Login to the WM with admin account on console, observe behavior

2) Login to the WM with monitor account on console, observe behavior

3) Login to the WM with admin account in an SSH session, observe behavior

4) Login to the WM with monitor account in an SSH session, observe behavior

Note: Web access has already been confirmed in the previous test
